Our Story

In 2016, Nathan embarked on a podcast journey with a mission close to his heart – raising awareness and fostering action for his nonprofit cause. After years spent managing his marketing agency and serving as an adjunct professor, he realized a shift within himself. His sleeping giant awoke propelling him to follow a bigger vision of helping people understand the marketing complexities.

By 2020, Nathan took a bold step, steering the podcast toward a new course – “Let’s Talk Marketing.” He’s still a social entrepreneur but with a twist. Nathan’s marketing experience as a consultant has helped countless leaders in the government, higher education, nonprofits, and large and small businesses. If you haven’t had the pleasure to experience his voracious but not off-putting competitive spirit, gregarious, loud laugh and smile, bear hugging approach to encourage decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and students to  “be unapologetically you” – a motto that turned into his brand’s merchandise, #beyou.

Nathan’s unwavering dedication to empowering others stems from his journey of learning the hard way. His story is rooted in empathy, a journey that recalls his entrepreneurial genesis. He vividly remembers the initial struggles, the hurdles he overcame, and the aspirations that sometimes outstripped his resources. Driven by a commitment to make meaningful knowledge accessible, Nathan realized that his podcast needed to evolve – a transformation that would align with the needs of not only emerging entrepreneurs but all who want to learn about the marketing principles used in businesses.

“I’m endlessly fascinated by the art of crafting tailored marketing strategies. In my varied experience, I’ve witnessed no two companies tread the same path to identical outcomes. Consider, for instance, the intricate tapestry of franchise restaurants within a single metropolis. Each one grapples with a unique interplay of their avatar’s ability to ensure they continue to make an additional purchase within the month, week, and day.”

Nathan has defined marketing outside the AMA definition to be “an untamed beast that never sleeps and is always consuming.”  It’s an all-encompassing force, ceaselessly evolving.

Meet Your Host

Nathan A Webster, MBA

Welcome to the world of Nathan’s inspiring journey. For 14 impactful years, from 2004 to 2018, Nathan spearheaded the Dream Big Community Center organization to build a state-of-the-art facility serving the community differently. He started with programming to build a demand for services. In his first year, they served over 3,000 students. Crafting a curriculum that spoke to hearts helping them to identify and chase their aspirations.

However, when the conventional couldn’t meet his vision, Nathan took matters into his own hands. With resilience and determination, he penned “Scared to Be Me,” his book that resonated to meet the student’s needs and meet them in their environment. Nathan’s ethos was rooted in community and collaboration was his compass. He worked tirelessly to have the best community sponsors, such as Round Table Pizza, Portland Trail Blazers, Rachel’s Challenge, Best Buy, Target, Barnes & Noble, Uber, and more added vigor to his impactful journey.

In 2015, a new chapter beckoned. Nathan’s alma mater, Clark College, became his new opportunity to share his passion for education and dream big.  He pioneered a Nonprofit 101 class before he was tapped to teach Business 101 classes. And then requested him to oversee the Entrepreneur Program for six illustrious years.

The podcast was a “passion project” by Nathan’s definition. This auditory venture wasn’t just a hobby; it was a lifeline for those traversing the realms of social enterprises, nonprofits, fundraising, and social good. At every juncture where Nathan contemplated pausing, destiny intervened with a timely call from an unknown listener in the world who requested assistance. Nathan says, “After a while, I realized I was truly helping people and decided to make it one of my core services.”
